This is the most creative, genuinely original, amazingly beautiful way I have seen to "re-use" a wedding dress.
Considering I currently have 2 dresses, I am trying to figure out what to do with the dresses after the wedding. Do I re-sell both, just one, neither? Do I use one to have a trash the dress session? Although it seems kind of ridiculous to buy a dress just to ruin it for some pictures, even if they are incredibly awesome pictures.
I consider my dresses to be steals and I truly got them for great deals, and I kind of want to pass that on to another bride who may be in a similar situation as myself. But then again I have this incredible emotional attachment to them, and I haven't even worn them yet...

first, I disagree with people who say "you only wear the dress once, for that ONE DAY!" You wear that dress EVERY SINGLE TIME you look at those pictures. you wear that dress everytime you think about your wedding, whether it be before or after. you wear that dress everytime you tell someone about the story of finding it, of how it felt to wear it, and what its doing afterwards.
ReplyDeleteI feel your pain about having the emotional attachment. I've seen trash the dress sessions, places where you can donate to brides who can't afford a dress, ideas of making the dress into christening gowns, and even an organization who takes dresses and makes them into burial gowns for stillborn babies or babies who die shortly after birth. all completely worthy causes and ideas. but I couldn't tear myself apart. and now my dress sits in a box, preserved, up in the closet of my parents house. I haven't looked at it in almost 2 years, and don't expect to anytime soon. but it's something about knowing its there....
