Honeymoon Plannin

OK so we have pretty much decided that a 7-10 day road trip is in order for the H-moon. Now to nail down a budget and a route! We really want to see the national parks out west but flights are a bit pricey when you add in a car rental and gas :( But the groom has already seen much of the East Coast and we don't want to repeat anything either. Grrr. Any suggestions??

Centerpiece Twin

Making my dream a reality...I found this

12.17.2009

cute dress

I would have to complete a lot of "ifs" for this dress, such as, if I wore a size XS, and if I had a larger budget, but for the bride who is a size XS and has a larger budget this dress is so cute!

Its an authentic vintage dress from Unique Vintage

Photographer

Our photographer has officially been booked. Chris is dating a friend of mine from law school, he is also a "bike guy", and he is a great photographer.

swoon

I love everything about this wedding. This bride's style makes me smile.

The dresses are in!

They are definitely more than I was hoping for :) They apparently run a little big, so if anybody needs anything done it shouldn't be a problem. The hem is also about an inch long so if it needs to be let out a little bit that shouldn't be a problem either. They are both super cute and the exact same colors! whew. Here are some pics of me modeling them, the 2 & 3 pic are of the same dress with the back detail! The sash is detachable and can be tied in anyway you want, I just tied it in the back for the pic :) Oh and also they are very wrinkly they don't actually look like that.

12.06.2009

wow

This is the most creative, genuinely original, amazingly beautiful way I have seen to "re-use" a wedding dress.

Considering I currently have 2 dresses, I am trying to figure out what to do with the dresses after the wedding. Do I re-sell both, just one, neither? Do I use one to have a trash the dress session? Although it seems kind of ridiculous to buy a dress just to ruin it for some pictures, even if they are incredibly awesome pictures.

I consider my dresses to be steals and I truly got them for great deals, and I kind of want to pass that on to another bride who may be in a similar situation as myself. But then again I have this incredible emotional attachment to them, and I haven't even worn them yet...

OMG shoes

So my last post got me thinking, what kind of shoes the BMs should wear. If the coordinated color/pashmina idea doesn't pan out maybe a gold shoe or maybe even an orange pump!? I found theses on Endless.com

12.01.2009

Pashmina

As I now wait patiently for the dresses to arrive I am beginning to think harder about how to make sure everyone does not freeze! The average temperature in Lake George on our date is 55 degrees and with shorter dresses a cover up will be necessary.

So idea one is pashmina! I have already thought about burgundy and ivory but there are so many options. Here are my favorite colors:

What do you think? any color ideas? Maybe everyone can get a different color and matching SHOES! OMG I think I just fell in love with that idea.

ordered!

Just placed the order with Target for these dresses!

I didn't even know this was a possibility but now that I know...

I mean its completely ridiculous and totally unnecessary but um we might have to do it.

DIY project #2 complete

Well they still need a few touches, but I managed to make 5 boutineers this week!

some brown feathers, a glue gun, wheat, acorns, ribbon and brown floral tape equals these:

these are just for the groomsmen, the groom will wear a white rose like my bouquet.

DIY Hair Flower

One of my BMs and my favorite wedding assistant came over last night, and over a glass (bottle) of wine we created 2 hair flowers for the big day. Following these directions from WeddingBee we created these:

I am leaning towards the second one, but I am sure it will be a day of decision!

Why I love

my MOH, after some money stress this week she had the perfect come back.

"don't worry we can make everything awesome even if its made out of paper bags and pipe cleaners it will be the prettiest and most fun wedding ever"

New theme: paper bags and pipe cleaners!

Leave it to Martha to be above the trend curve on this new theme idea.

Different Colors?

I was inspired by the mismatching yet matching bridesmaid dresses of my last inspiration board and was thinking that maybe more than just one color dress would be fun.

Dresses via J Crew, Siri and Amsale

I was thinking rust, brown, olive and an ivory color.

Cardigans!

I found the cutest cardigan today at the store. It will be perfect as a little cover up, considering it could be chilly during photos and the cocktail hour or even after hours by the fire! Yes I am not taking the dress off until someone makes me.

here are some photos of other cardigans and brides!

Inspiration

This past year the Adirondack Balloon Festival fell on the one year anniversary of our wedding date!

So when I saw these invites I began to think about how we could incorporate balloons into our wedding, that is if the balloon festival happens to be on the same weekend next year.

Maybe we could sneak away in the morning and take some gorgeous day of photos.

How not to be economical

I bought a second wedding dress.

Its beautiful.

Its more money than the first one.

I am in love with it.

I didn't believe in the idea that you could find THE ONE, I thought that was reserved specifically for the groom. Its not this dress is THE ONE.

I will be selling the first one to lessen the guilt.

If you want to see it look here

centerpiece blitz 2009

I can't decide which one I like best, I kind of like the apples better than the gourds, but the apples don't last as long as the gourds so that's something to consider. I guess I could always do apples and gourds alternating on different tables. I am also lukewarm on the leaves. They definitely add color but I think I might be able to accomplish that with different ribbon and maybe different table numbers. For some reason the leaves just aren't my favorite what do you think?

10.20.2009

adorable

I love this wedding

these centerpieces are super cute, look at that wheat!

10.13.2009

trial #3

Ok here is another version

I am a little concerned that it is too "fall" what do you think?

centerpiece trial #2

Suggestions, comments, concerns? I still have to figure out table numbers and possibly favors. I collected some colorful leaves this morning and I will do another trial run with leaves soon to see if I can bring in some color.
