Photo Booth

I am most excited about our possible photobooth. Hopefully our friend will be able to recreate his previous photobooth magic during our cocktail hour.

This summer we are going to work at building a booth of sorts. Here is our inspiration:

Vase

Dollar Tree has some really nice vases. In fact they have a shorter version of the vase I wanted to use for the centerpieces. And at only a $1.00 that would be a savings of close to $50.00! That's enough to cover the cost of the unexpected Save the Dates.

Here is the smaller vase version, you can hardly tell:

Found it!

Finally! We found a wedding band that matches the engagement ring. I LOVE IT. and the story behind it is just as fabulous as the ring itself. The ring use to live in the original Sheinfeld Jewelery store in Albany right on state street. The woman who was selling the ring has had the ring since her family closed the store decades ago. She sells all the left over stock at local antique stores in the Capital Region. The ring I finally picked out wasn't even at the store, but lived in a safe. I talked with her about what I wanted and she went to her safe and returned with a bunch of beautiful rings. In the LAST box was the perfect ring. Without further ado...

Look at that original box too! Love it.

Times Flies

I feel like February has crept up on me. The wedding is only 6 months away! There is so much to do. The most stressful part, finalizing the guest list has descended upon us. We have a very solid list currently, but depending on our menu it may need to be trimmed. Hopefully we can work it out so that no one gets the axe! Its very nerve racking thinking about your friends/family in this way. Who do you want there by your side during this incredibly intimate and personal time? Who expects to be invited and who would like to be invited, and who we actually want to be there, can all be very different. Making the process no fun. AND on top of all that we have to send out some sort of save the date soon. The amount of questions/concerns we have been getting about booking the hotel room, indicates that our guests would like to know sooner rather than later what they need to do to secure a room.

I have been playing around on vistaprint, since they have good deals for postcards, and I am liking some of their designs. Such as this one:

Miss Manners

At the advice of other brides, I recently purchased "Miss Manners' Guide to a Surprisingly Dignified Wedding". My only contention is her advice on registries. I actually completely agree with Miss Manners. She despises registering for gifts, and she really does not like honeymoon registries or anything of that type. BUT I really do feel like people want a bride to register. We really have no room for towels, pots and pans, china or anything of the sort. None zero room. We live in a studio with a dog and a cat and one closet. No room.

So I started a honeymoon registry. I felt sort of dirty about it before (having heard older generations complain at other weddings of how tactless they find it) but now that Miss Manners keeps telling me to not have a registry I feel even dirtier. Ugh. I don't know what to do. Why is everything wedding related so stress inducing.
